Augusta Online Event: Dance & Social Justice

Tuesday, November 17 (7 pm) Dance & Social Justice presented by Laurie Goux (FB, Zoom). Laurie will share stories and history about the role that dance has played in social justice movements around the US and the wider world.

All events are free and open to the public and will be streamed live on the Augusta Facebook page. Some sessions will also be accessible via Zoom to allow interaction between attendees and the presenter.

  • December 1 (10:30 am) A Song, a Story and a Cheese: Growing up Swiss in Helvetia, West Virginia presented by Bruce Betler (FB, Zoom). Bruce Betler (now Pater Otto) will share his unique knowledge of the connections between his hometown of Helvetia, WV and Switzerland. From linguistic turns of phrase and foodways to the songs sung and stories told during his youth in Helvetia, Bruce will give interesting perspective and insight into beloved Helvetian traditions.
