Fascinated since childhood with color, texture, and shapes Kate has experimented with many forms of visual arts. She currently works as both a fiber artist and a fine artist. Her fiber works include wearable art in the form of hand dyed silks, wet felted wools, or silk/wool combinations as well as wall hangings, wet felted landscapes, and whimsical vessels and birdhouses. She also incorporates fiber with other materials for jewelry.
As a fine artist Kate most often works in soft pastel, acrylic, and ink. She produces both landscapes and abstracts.
Still obsessed with color and texture Kate’s work in all mediums draws inspiration from the natural world, particularly the mountains of West Virginia and the bays and inlets of the Chesapeake.
Her work has been juried into multiple shows; has won awards; and is in private collections across the eastern United States.
