In Buckhannon, visitors are greeted by a large mural depicting the seal of the city, featuring a pioneer and a native american extending hands to each other. As you head downtown, one gets a feeling of a city that is well-loved as indicated by colorful storefronts, the flower-lined streets in the summer and public art pieces. WV Wesleyan College is a partner in many local activities, making Buckhannon a true college town. The Lascaux Micro-Theater plays art films weekly, and the city park hosts a large farmers’ market. From June through September, Buckhannon hosts Festival Fridays with music, food and art vendors. It is a community experience not to be missed and it happens every week.
