Randolph County has long been supportive of community-driven arts. The county-wide arts center provides a hub for artists in the area to exhibit and perform, businesses across the county show local artwork in their shops and storefronts, and working artists instruct classes inside and outside of school. Randolph County plays host to a variety of artists working in an incredible range of media: from jewelry, baskets, quilts, and pottery to paintings, woodwork, sculpture, and textiles. The diverse media of Randolph's artists is a reflection of the diverse environments that can be explored in the Monongahela Forest and the Tygart Valley. Elkins, the county seat, also hosts two large performance venues attracting tourists to the region, and small concerts can be found in an array of bars, restaurants, and other venues throughout the week.
