Mary’s Alley, Seneca Mall Parking Lot, Elkins

Lisa Armstrong and Melissa Thomas-Van Gundy

These three pieces of pop-up art in Elkins represent three different styles and periods of art. The meadow is an example of impressionism, the tomatoes are representative of pop art, and the Mail Pouch Tobacco dumpster is a staple of advertising art in the United States.

Its purpose it to promote the unique arts and culture of north central West Virginia, spanning the counties of Barbour, Pocahontas, Randolph, Taylor, Tucker, and Upshur.
